A little about my background

I am forever in the pursuit of the Art of Well-Being. During college, I started my health and fitness journey in the early 80s as an aerobics instructor (big hair, leg warmers, and headbands…oh yeah!!).

I later became a personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder…which eventually evolved into health club ownership and various jobs within the health and fitness industry, including a degree in Applied Science Physical Therapy.

However, as a military spouse (now retired Vet spouse), my license was only good in one state, and that career was short-lived due to moves.

“Most recently, I have become a Certified Epigenetic and Human Optimization Coach.”

Most recently, I became a Certified Epigenetic and Human Optimization Coach, which means I can better help my clients (and myself) impact their health outcomes by applying precision strategies based on their personal genetic blueprint. This experience has been incredibly eye-opening, and I’m so grateful this technology and information are now available.

Ever wonder why you feel like you’re spinning your wheels with some of your health and fitness efforts or that you’re doing everything you’re supposed to, but your body is not responding the way you wish? Do you feel constantly inflamed, bloated, achy, fatigued, etc? That’s where I can step in, and we can take a deeper dive with targeted solutions.

At the age of 51, I entered the competitive arena again as a master figure and physique competitor, placing 1st-3rd in several contests and earning my Figure Pro card in an all-natural, drug-tested, international contest at nearly 53 years old.

I thought for years that I would never be able to compete again due to bouts of debilitating rheumatoid arthritis. At times, I couldn’t even hold a coffee pot without using two hands or go up and down stairs without the aid of the railing. The pain was intense. My condition has dramatically improved with strategic nutrition choices, modern medicine, and exercise, and my bloodwork shows me in remission.

Optimal health is a balancing act; being proactive with my health has been much better than chasing it. Inflammation is no joke; it comes in many forms and diseases and is the number one aging issue.

I am passionate not only about optimizing my own health but also about helping others transform into a stronger, happier, healthier version of themselves and redefining how they age.

Being strong, happy, and healthy has to be intentional as we age. We took those things for granted in our youth, but as we mature and health issues crop up or life responsibilities cause us increased stress, we realize the value of true health. Our nutrition needs change, and we have to learn to manage our stress.

Strength, happiness, and health result from deliberate choices and habits. It all starts in the mind. Mindset can help or hinder your desire to experience a more vibrant life.

To experience a more youthful aging process, I am emphatic about the importance of consistently exercising, incorporating strength training, proprioception/balance, flexibility, HIIT/EPOC training, or moderate cardiovascular exercises (depending on individual limitations and goals). Nutrition is vital in obtaining health and fitness goals and slowing aging. The proper balance of macro and micronutrients can accelerate fitness goals, and the adverse effects are also true, which may cause some people to get discouraged, feel fatigued, and give up on their pursuit. Being smart about how our “right now” choices will affect our future selves is critical. Bad habits will eventually catch up through disease, obesity, fatigue, digestive issues, emotional health problems, etc.. Then, we must chase our health to get our bodies back in balance. Medicine may be required to help with some symptoms, but it is certainly not the cure. We need to take charge of our health and not rely on medicine to ease our ails because we are too lazy to change our habits for our own good.

Be proactive and intentional about choices to have quality of life by remaining physically independent throughout aging. By all means, try to avoid having to depend on someone else to wipe your butt.

I’ve gained extensive knowledge in the health and fitness field through scholastic education, over 40 years of experience, and, most of all, my insatiable quest for more knowledge and personal growth.  I am excited to share information and guide other women (and men) towards their own healthy transformations.  Exercise, proper nutrition, and a positive mindset are the fountains of youth (and NOT in that order). KEEP FIGHTING GRAVITY and giving GRATITUDE, my friends!!
